I think it will be in a few years as I haven't ordered one , I'm sill quite attached to my mk7 tbh
But its my next step I think in the future
I wondered from your posts if you were hinting at something and might have one in the pipeline.
A great time to buy one right now if you were to though, a big choice of low mileage sub-one year old cars sat on dealer forecourts.
I can echo what Hertsman says as regards from moving to a TCR from an R, and add that the TCR is significantly different enough to drive as compared to a 230PS MK7 PP.
The engine feels much more peppy and eager to go in the TCR, with a different soundtrack from the exhaust. I see a grey 20 plate locally quite often and there’s quite a difference between the original (steel) TCR exhaust and the Akra. The former sounds like a distant WW2 fighter plane at times and the titanium system has more of a rasp.
There are loads of other significant detail differences too, enough to make it feel a different beast, but as Hertsman says, still refined and Golf like when just cruising around.
The phrase “value for money” might not apply to a TCR but these things are bought for other reasons.
I really like them, not that's really surprising i find them more appealing than the R ,I like the GTI brand / styling and every thing in-between .
but I need to be strong as my responsible adult ( wife ) has a TDI I want to change for a 7,5 R line petrol as she is doing very short journeys its getting long in the tooth , But hell yes ! I think they are Lovely !
