hi there ive been looking at fitting air suspension but i dont know where to buy the kits and what the prices are for the kits?
can anyone help???
thanks
-
You will be looking at around £1200+ for a good setup.
-
Have a search on Edition38 as there's lots of info on air ride over there. There's a few UK suppliers/fitters although quite a lot of people are DIY fitting kits these days.

Havair, Rayvern, Bagyard, etc etc
But like Nickers said, its pretty simple to DIY.
-
how do i go around sourceing diy parts,i really want to fit this but i really dont have £1200 to spend
thanks

Have a look at build threads on ED38, and VW Vortex forums, then get yourself along to ED38 show, talk to people, also talk to the pro's... Elly at Voodoo motorsport well worth talking to, you'll discover that it's not as simple, or straight forward as you may think, different systems etc..
You get what you pay for!

Or even Elie
I got my quote from Voodoo (Elie) and that was for a basic up down system.
-
What? You not got 'front and back, and side to side'?
-
We still talking about the same thing...

Or even Ellie

Very tempted by hAir Ride. Read good handling reviews also.
Havair seems to be a favorite. You could probably DIY it with the budget of some expensive coilovers but you get what you pay for as JV said.
Some management can cost £1000 + alone.

Ill just stick a VAG part number on the air system and sleep well at night?
Some mk1's had hydro or air suspension from factory im sure?
-
See a mk2 at a cruise about 6 weeks ago it was on air ride with a smoothed bay running ABF on carbs and it looked so sweet that low
-
This has gotta be the best bagged mk2 i have seen

Sorry was this including install or just for the kit?
-
Just for a kit.
-
As above. Installation adds between £500-1000 on to that price.
-
airbagit.com will do a diy kit for £1200, or if you went to Havair, it'll be £2k plus £200 fitting.

Airride is the new coilover.
Next year. Air ride for me

did you see it a lot today lol ??
-
Funnily enough, no.
C4RBD wasn't to be seen, and I think one of the Westside bwoys has it on the R32'd, but it was sitting at a 'normal' ride height.
I'll admit that after driving 160miles to and from Players mine didn't catch once, so I may give it a miss and put the money towards a new engine.
-
how wound down are you lewy ??
airride would be cool but imo its overpriced for what it is
-
Pricey yes. Still confused on the management side of things, what does what etc...
I only saw 2 on air ride but sick of catching the exhaust and front bumper. I use this daily and have to plan my routes to avoid speed humps etc.
CBF to raise it and lower it all the time.

Quite low, probably as low as Blue, but I don't use mine every day.
And I know what you mean about the components for air-ride, as I deal with air suspension on a daily basis and the likes of compressors, tanks, bags and lines are as cheap as chips, so I suppose it must be down to the cost of building the struts.
-
Could work out far less with bag over coils...

Dont mind just need to find the best bags.
Might be a problem with the clearance at the back of the wheel?

Good call could be a right pita with the wheel fouling the bag resulting collapsed suspension.. Any diameters on bags though ?
