Charcoal / Carbon canister ECU light
« on: 19 October 2017, 19:51 »
I have had the ecu light on for this issue over the last few years.

I have been able to get it to go off by taking it on longer drives rather than it being used for the school run. The thing is now that it seems to be harder to get the light to go off and stay off for any length of time.

VW want a silly amount of £££ to replace the unit as apparently the manifold needs to be drpped / removed (!) so after a bit of googling it seems that maybe this unit can be removed / bypassed and possibly mapped out.

I can't find so much for the mk5 though - does anybody know anything about this?
