Hi folks
Anyone with a TCR notice there is no storage drawer under the drivers seat ?
My clubsport had one so just wondering if mine is missing or if it’s the usual vw cost saving exercise ?

i have to agree, the draw under my drivers seat has a loose catch which if I had not wedged firmly shut would keep opening of it's own accord. I can only remember using it twice before I noticed the catch had become loose. The draws under seat are a nice idea but fairly useless anyway.

The drawers themselves wouldn’t be missed but it’s a shame there’s not a plastic trim to disguise the gaping hole.

Some of the Texans on the “other” forum reckon it’s a good place to keep your hand gun.

Had them on my first 7.5 and put some stuff in. When I got rid of the car I emptied them out and found the stuff I'd put in there and never used! Don't have them in this one and don't actually miss them.

This thread prompted me to look inside my drivers seat drawer the other day.
I found a birthday card in there - from early last year!

I added them on my May 2018 MK7.5 GTI simply because I thought the front of the seats looked unfinished without the drawers or any sort of blanking trim.
In mine i keep the following -
Drivers side - Tyre tread depth gauge, Digital tyre pressure gauge, Spare Iphone lightning cable & spare Android USB-C cable, and a couple of pens. Microfiber for cleaning the head unit and active info display.
Passenger side - My spare driving glasses, my wife's spare driving and prescription sunglasses for when she drives the car.

You can add them? Nice! Mine is October 2017, where do I buy the parts and how much did it cost?

sjw: sootchucker took the drawers out of his old car (which had them as standard) and installed them in his new Golf.
You’d be able to buy the drawers from any VW dealer. They won’t be particularly cheap.
I’d imagine someone here will have part numbers or be able to pull the ETKA diagrams up. I can no longer access that program.
