Pirelli Edition price
« on: 30 October 2016, 11:31 »
Looking for a GTI, was going to go for a mk6 but have seen a Pirelli mk5 for sale and it looks great, i know the seats are an acquired taste but from the pictures i like them, it is as much as an early mk6 though, 2008, 73k, £11k - what do you guys think of the price?

Pirellis are ultra rare in the UK so will always command a good price.
When I was looking to buy a mk7 GTI back in 2009 there were several Pirellis around on dealer forecourts that you could get a new GTI for so the price differential has remained pretty much the same.
I'd much rather have a nice Pirelli than an early mk6 to be honest, but it's a car I'd not want to use every day to maintain its value and condition.

If you can PM me the spec and reg of the car I can run a CAP valuation on it to show what it's worth at trade price if you like. That won't directly reflect what it's worth in a public sale due to its rarity but it will be a guide.

You can just list the spec if you like, number of doors, colour and gearbox plus options.
Or post the reg up and delete it again if you buy the car!

Or just post a load of rubbish in the various forums like the rest of us do...

That'll do nicely.

Goes to show how the trade prices work even for special editions such as this:
Top book price is between £5000 and 5275 for trade in purposes. Wonder what they paid for it?
Obviously selling it on the open market the price will be determined by condition and what an enthusiast will swallow.

That's a bit scary! It seems at least £1k over the highest priced Ed 30's to me. Thanks for the info

You're welcome

It's worth more than an ED30 in my eyes.

Incidentally, a friend of mine went to go and have a nose at a standard mk5 GTI at the weekend that was on a 10 plate. There can't be many of those.
That was up for about the same money as the Pirelli too.
I think it had about 50k on it from memory. I can't get the website up on my phone at the moment but the dealer is Seymour Horwell if you want to google it out of curiosity. They're a Volvo(?) main dealer in South Devon

Looks tidy, i would not want to pay that much for a standard mk5 though and i want a manual. The Pirelli has 7 stamps, 6 VW and one independent, cambelt changed at 45k so that is due now again i think?
