Pretty sure you can even do it with the non pro version so Pro definitely should.

Yeah, you can.
Same principle as with VCDS (they got a guide google Ross-Tech battery replacement) only the gui is different.

Get the pro version in any case.

Thanks 'too hot' the Black Friday Ultimate pack is 45% off for 99 euro, but I cant see if it the next gen version... would that make a difference, and does the extra credits warrant the  stated price reduction v the 'pro pack' which does appear to have the 'next gen' device?

My order was €104 for the next gen iOS compatible unit with 400 credits and pro licence. Looking forward to it arriving and coding in the new battery and some other small little bits. It also has a phone holder with it.
Has anyone else’s battery lasted 7.2 years from new or do I hold the record ??!!

Thanks for all the advice.
Can someone just clarify one thing
My plan over next year is rear brakes, diesel fuel filter and main battery. That's about it
Can I get away with just buying a normal version and using free credits to do the above mentioned maintenance? Or do I definitely need the pro version for that. Thanks

Get the pro version would be my advice.
The apps are very hit and miss and you cannot trace what they are doing.
You can always upgrade to pro though.

I bought OBDEleven in addition to VCDS HEX NET and VCP V2.
I only use it to do very basic stuff, it's OK but for me it's more of a toy compared to my other tools.
