Budget coilovers, which ones to get?
« on: 08 October 2015, 02:26 »
Okay so i know this has been posted millions of times but i can't seem to find everything I'm looking for. Basically I'm looking at the budget coilovers, JOM/FK/ProSport/JAMEX/TA-Technix/TuningArt. I know these are basically all the same but there must be a few small differences. I do not plan on driving the car hard, it's literally just to be a scene wh**e and get the lows. I'd like personal opinions from people who have actually owned them and to help decide which pair is best for the buck. TIA

It's like choosing between a sh!t and a turd. I fitted some joms to my mates mk4 and they lasted two weeks before one popped.

I have a mate who runs an X reg 5 dr 1.6 Mk4 with a small amount of wieght in the boot, (sub box etc) and he runs FK Ak's with 16" rims running the usual tyre size and his ride's fairly well. Nothing to harsh or bouncy. Stick's to the road well though  :undecided:
So i'd go with them for less than £200

I've heard both good and bad, about all makes. More good than bad. For under 200 posted and a 2 year warranty. Why not?

You might as well cut the springs and zip tie them in place.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
