I'll try to work round this way....

Price on ebay: 142.00£
They are VAT registered seller -20% VAT = 118£
Ebay wants a few pounds.... leaves say 115£ for seller
Courier wants 10£ for delivery.... 105£
Seller wants to make profit..... if he budgets any less than 10% he is an absolute i.... he also has overheads for storage, staff etc
So he buys tyres for far less than 25£ a pop....


Now going down futher to wholeseller, importer, customs, sea logistics, exporter in China, all the way to manufacturer... they all have overheads and want to make money.

So how much exactly do you think the company that makes these tyres in rural China spends on manufacturing one?
And would you want to put the resulting product on your car?

I just wanted to know if the tyres are any good. plus 225/40/18 tyres in jersey channel islands is between £60 - £80 each for budget tyres

One thing that can end your life pretty quickly are sh!te tyres if you want to risk it thats down to you but for the sake of an extra £50 per set I wouldnt

Personally I would not put cheap tyres on a car, no matter what the speed limit is.

For 80£ a pop you can get decent brand tyres online and shipped to J.
E.g. Nokian Z line - they go for 80£ a tyre and are more than decent and will no question last a lot longer than the china crackers.

if the speed limits 40mph I would put some steel wheels on and save yourself a mint

don't see the logic in this as steel wheels still need tyres  :smiley:

I have had these on for a while now and I cant fault them thay grip well on dry and wet days
