My bro in-law has the American version of this, the Mazda Speed3, but in red.
Nice car, not been in it yet though.

My dad borrowed the car today... he gave me the keys back saying "its not my kind of car"  but did say its quick!

He always enjoyed driving the golf. I imagine as it was slightly more refined

My Mate used to have a Mazda 3 MPS-Aero.

Fooking rapid. Loved it.

I think the aero kit add a larger rear spoiler, different wing mirrors and lower suspension.... mainly to make it stand out a little more as a hot hatch. Think many of the earlier ones went unnoticed!! Which I kind of prefer

3 MPS has never been 4wd but the 6 MPS was and uses the same engine.

The gen 1 MPS 3/6 are proper sleepers
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Yes.. thats correct. The Mazda 3's are all FWD. The 6 MPS is 4WD, but has the same power and engine (so kind of similar to the R32... not quite enough power). Although a remap soon sorts that out!

Quite enjoy passing under the radar compared to a white Gti

The 6MPS has a 28% transmission loss

that seems pretty high... which is why I wouldnt get a mazda 6 anyway. 3 is much more fun to drive.

Love the Mazda 3 MPS.
Handles really well too.
The Bose is much improved in the gen 2 model :)
It may be expensive to run but it's a lot cheaper to buy than a golf :p
Probably more reliable too.
