The wifes car has a noisy starter, it has the dreaded Vag squeal when the starter disengages, I had this on my old Octavia vRS but I just replaced the starter.
This time to save a few pennies, I'm hoping that its possible to take the starter off and overhaul it by greasing etc to solve the problem as I'm thinking that it is just dry from use and age.
Has anyone done this or does anyone know if it will work?
Thanks, replies or any help would be appreciated, Cheers.

Sweet, that thread is mint, shouldn't have too much trouble with that now, thanks for the link!

you have to take the starter motor off,and put some greese on the shaft in side ,that sorts it , R-TECH told me ,you dont have to take it apart:wink:
