Car Options
« on: 15 August 2018, 09:59 »
Guys

What's the best way to find out what factory options were ordered on a particular Golf?  I've got a reg number which I want to check out.

Cheers

Brilliant, thank you.  I'll use this to cross reference what mine has.

I've got my eyes on a couple of cars I may be viewing, hence only having the reg numbers.  I went on to the VW site and started a chat.  They supplied me with the optional extras so have now cut n pasted them over for my records.

If you use Facebook at all, search for a page called "RPS Online - Audi/VW/SEAT/Skoda"

The guys name that runs the page is Mike, and if you drop him a message with your reg and a note asking for the original spec list, he'll pull one off straight from ETKA for you and send it over!

Definitely do not trust dealers to tell you which options a car has. Check the sticker or if you know how to spot some of the options, go over it carefully when you look at the car. Some bits are less obvious to spot...

The number of ads I've seen that say it has blah blah blah when it clearly doesn't from the photos!

Equally sometimes they miss things :D

Definitely, can tell by the photos if it has some of the options and if I do go to view any cars I will be taking a pic of the sticker to cross check when I get home.

Thanks for your help guys...

The data sticker will not give all the options ordered. You can go to Erwin, it's about 7 euros for an hour. Register, lookup the PR codes after you enter the vin this will give the complete list. Or use a friendly dealer to access the system and get the information.
MKVII GTD Manual - Pure White, 5Door, Adaptive chassis control, Advance telephone connection, Climate comfort windscreen, Discover Nav pro, High beam assist, Keyless entry, Sport and Sound pack, Park assist system with steering assist, Rear view camera, Rear side airbags with rear seatbelt warning, Winter pack, 5 Year Warranty

Why would the data sticker not give all the options preferred. Surely that's the point of it?
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.
