hi I am getting 00849 dtc what is it an is it a easy fix

00849 - S-Contact at Ignition/Starter Switch (D): Unknown Switch Condition

Possible Causes
Terminal 15 OK, but Terminal S not OK
Fuse(s) faulty
Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Ignition/Starter Switch (D) faulty
Ignition/Starter Switch (D) faulty

Possible Solutions
Check Terminal S
Check Fuse(s)
Check/Repair Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Ignition/Starter Switch (D)
Check/Replace Ignition/Starter Switch (D)

I found where it is and there is no damage there

assuming all your fuses are good you may as well try changing the switch. you won't always find visible damage and its not uncommon for them to fail, I've had to change a few on various vws.
