Got my os door mirror housing replaced and was relieved of £420  After 3 attempts at having black mirror covers I can only assume they are jinxed so will see how my standard red ones are for me in the luck department.
2019 Oryx White 5dr TCR.

it's a £1000 for 0.2 secs quicker to 60

I honestly think if you're gonna get a GTI, get the non performance, and don't get any extras.

Keep it to that price point and it makes sense.

If you start speccing it up with met paint, PP, DCC, Leather , Santiago's etc etc, then you're at the price point of a Golf
R, or (pardon my French) a Focus RS

The only extra a GTI really needs imo is an EIbach Pro Kit
2018 Golf GTI. 3 Door. DSG. Tornado Red.
Eibach Pro Kit. OZ Hyper GT HLT Wheels. (18x8, ET50).
Forge 11mm spacers on rear wheels. 5mm on fronts.

Thanks Jeff - if only I could get the standard GTI... Just weighing up whether to go for the PP or something else completely

I did a non pp vs pp review having owned both in mk7.5 form. Dont listen to people who havent daily driven both, how do they know what a pp or non pp is like having never driven it?

I've driven both.

There's pro's and con's of both.

I actually ordered a PP but then changed my mind, then changed back to a PP, then back to normal.

I just thought it would be better to put that £1000 towards a set of lightweight wheels, I mean what's the point of having a perfomance version if it means having those heavy wheels ??

Same logic applies to the brakes, the performance brakes weight a lot more than the standard breaks, and this is all unsprung weight, so it makes a big difference.

Anyway, it seems new buyers dont have a choice.

But I've owned my 7.5 for a few weeks now and I'm happy with it, I often think to myself did I make the right choice, and I think yes.

Although saying that if it was just a car for me, rather than for my wife as well, then I would have probably got a Focus RS in Nitrous Blue, but the Golf is the perfect all round car, impossible to fault it really.

Were you slow speed manoeuvring or actually driving?

Just reverse parking, but doing so fairly quickly :)

Jeff - what are the 'cons' of the PP? (just heavy brakes?) As I posted on clarkys review I actually don't want a noisy exhaust (I know most do) and that is something that puts me off the PP.
