There's pro's and con's of both.
I actually ordered a PP but then changed my mind, then changed back to a PP, then back to normal.
I just thought it would be better to put that £1000 towards a set of lightweight wheels, I mean what's the point of having a perfomance version if it means having those heavy wheels ??
Same logic applies to the brakes, the performance brakes weight a lot more than the standard breaks, and this is all unsprung weight, so it makes a big difference.
Anyway, it seems new buyers dont have a choice.
But I've owned my 7.5 for a few weeks now and I'm happy with it, I often think to myself did I make the right choice, and I think yes.
Although saying that if it was just a car for me, rather than for my wife as well, then I would have probably got a Focus RS in Nitrous Blue, but the Golf is the perfect all round car, impossible to fault it really.
