this is no reason not to get a Golf  :smiley:

The Performance version is brilliant....go for it !

TBH, if I could turn back time, I would have gone for it, thinking about it, that £1000 is nothing for what you get....the more modern 7 speed box, the bigger brakes with the GTI logo, the diff (which I admit will strengthen its re sale value),

I honestly hadn't realised that the non-pp got a 6speed DSG! I think it's because before I ordered, I'd actually ordered a Polo GTI, and that gets the 7speed. You'd kind of assume they wouldn't let the Polo out spec the golf...

Unfortunately it would've been a 12 month wait for it to arrive, so I noped out of that one!

They haven't,

The Polo will be the weaker 7 speed "dry" box, whereas the GTI Performance gets the 7 speed "wet" box..

The "wet" box can handle more power & torque than the "dry" box..

Hmmm the details from Evo on here said that it was DSG only on the R and the GTD.... not the GTI (PP or not).

The DSG in the new Polo GTI is a 6 speed, not 7 speed.

Just been in the dealers and they are unconcerned and also none the wiser about any blocks to orders.  They said the order is in and waiting on confirmation from the factory.  So, wait and see at the moment.

Hi all

First time posting  :smiley:

I too am interested in a 5 door manual non-pp GTi. Today I had an online chat with VW UK.

The operator I spoke to confirmed- “Thanks for your patience. I have spoken to the IT team who are updating this vehicle on the configurator which is why it is not showing. You are still able to order one.“

No date was given when the configurator would be updated but was directed to the latest brochure as to what cars and options were available to order.

Now have to wait for factory to confirm order.

What exactly is putting you off ordering a 245 DSG even though you would order a 230 DSG if it was still available?
