No experiance in this scenario, but from previous I would always go with the expert recommendations here. If they say it'll be to loud and sound rubbish, it will be waaaay too loud and sound like a tractor mate

Should be able to as a CS40 doesn't have front fog lamps.

Golf mk7 / Coding out Fog lights
« Last post by EB2019 on Today at 14:50 »
Hi

Is it possible to code out front fog lights with OBD11?  or VCDS? Thinking about the TCR front bumper holes where the fog lights are and if its possible to retro fit.

Hi all. I'll be going up to stage 2 on my GTI CS shortly, including a sports CAT downpipe. However, I can't decide which back to go for...

I can either have Milltek's OPF back exhaust, or their OPF back RACE exhaust. It's my understanding the performance is the same, it's just the noise that differs.

Litchfield told me that the race version may be too loud/not create a nice sound, along with the sports CAT downpipe, and Milltek's normal OPF back would be the better option.

Does anyone have any experience with this that can advise please? Price is very similar. Race version is around £150 less I believe, so nothing material. Cheers

Also used to have a Remus Axle Back but the quad pipe version and it sounded much better than stock. But if down the line you do a res delete it will drone unless you get an Helmholtz anti drone res delete, even then you will notice some at 60-70mph and it will be significantly louder than stock also but much deeper and crisper.

Having gone down a similar route recently on my TCR I was looking for something OEM+ and after fitting a Remus I have been really happy with the noise when you a both on it and also just cruising. I loved the stock sound but wanted something louder when I was really enjoying the car.

I have just got back from a 200 mile trip down the motorway and the Remus Is no louder than the stock exhaust, and only comes alive when you are on it. A perfect mix if you ask me as a golf needs to be classless for every use.

I have been looking for an Akrapovic Exhaust for ages and have now found one so will be taking the Remus off and selling it. I wanted £700 but would take £600 if that was of interest. It is on a MK7.5 with an OPF so not sure how that would fit but I think the non-Opf downpipe is just longer so would fit the same I think? Sure someone on here will be able to confirm.

Res delete (anti drone, if required) and a clubsport s back box would be my first choice, or pick up a second hand standard back.
