Thanks JV.

Well I was on the look out for a G60, and I did drive Jordon's old one and just missed out on buying his, but continued too look around and this one came up:-

She's a 1990 G60 Edition One.

My first task was to source some replacement caps for the BBS RS rims, which some toe rag had nicked from the previous owner. I ordered up a set of these from Just Matz, but I've not fitted them yet due to the nasty summer weather !
I'll get a pick up when I've fitted them.

The body work is a little scruffy on her, but the engine seems fine having recently having a rebuild, it runs well. Most of the ancillaries have been replaced recently too.

The Charger has had some work (porting) but is on a standard pulley at the moment, which seems sensible, until she has done a few more Km after the rebuild.

Ok, she's been up in the air at the local VW specialist, and one shock is blown, so new suspension to some soon......

Car back from Automotive Solutions, Front end alignment done, drives much better, new auxillary belt, and new front splitter.
Fingers crossed for dry weather at the weekends before Stonor, so I might actually get to clean it !

Ok, been a while...

Been getting quotes on engine / charger mods
Decided on Koni Coilovers...
Bodyshop quotes next...

Plus I've been down to my local GSF to get some decent Hella headlamps and some decent Osram Xenon bulbs, the headlamps on it at the momment are cheap smoked ones, and they are poop. Can only se about 10 yards in front of the car. Plus I got a single headlight badged Grille

Just booked another track day to at Bedford, not sure if I can get the G60 ready in time, might go in the 8v shopper again...

Ok, G60 has been slammed on Weiteks and is riding on G60 steels since I posted anything. Seen some track use at Bedford too.

Been to Storm Developments while the forum was down, went on the Rolling road, here is the graph.

Not bad for a standard pulley.

Small update, G has gone into Storm for some tinkering.

Mocal oil Cooler

Should be back on the rolling road agin afterwards, I'll put a pic up!

Back from Storm...

Oil temp now about 15 degrees less on new oil cooler, which will help alot on track.

Charger not giving as much boost as it should on new 68mm Pulley. Seems I may need to budget for a charger rebuild (new scroll seals) at some point in the future, which should get the boost levels back up.

Forgot to pick up RR print out, but it was flattening off at the top.

Fitted a New 280mm Momo steering wheel which is fun.

Back from G-Werks and the charger has been serviced. Feels strong but I am on strict instructions to run the car at under 3k rpm for a few hundred miles. Apex seals were on there way out so that explains the slightly low boost levels previously.

Here is a pic of the refurbed charger. Not a lot too look at, but better than looking at one that has blown up!

Car now going like stink as the charger is was fully run in on the way back from Spring Fest.
Down side to this is the petrol tank is now empty and the car has gone back into the garage!
Had a chat with my bro about doing a RR session. Booking track days for the summer also...

Small update, a battery Isolator has been fitted, as the car can go a few weeks at a time without being started. Good news was the car passed it's MOT in the summer with no problems....

I can post a picture of me plugging in a battery charger if it will make you happy, because other than that, the car is in the car bedroom, under a car duvet for the winter... hibernating!

Just a f**king picture of the actual car would be nice.

In fact, has it ever been out of hibernation? I've not seen it for ages.

Stonor?

Off SORN, as a Tax Disc has arrived and been fitted.

Busted out the George and gave the car a good vac and spring clean.

Battery currently on maintenance charge, summer is nearly here!

Pics when time permitting Lewy!

Out on summer manouvers, but the actual summer this year had made the roof lining implode.
The main man sourced a good one from a car being stripped for track use.

Pics to follow.

Taxed for 2014 and a shakedown drive has proved a problem due to the misfire from hell.

Was hoping to get this sorted before Stonor Park this weekend, but due to work commitments, it looks like it's not going to happen.

I have a track day booked for the end of June, so a few jobs to sort before then, including swapping the BBS back to some steels and raising the coils back to a height where the car actually handles.

In the mean time my two other dubs which do the daily duties have now piled on way more miles than this car has and are costing me a bl&&dy fortune in OEM parts!!!

This shot was after I fitted a spare wheel bolt, one seemed to want to part ways with the hub

MOT time, and the rear beam bushes were split, so while the beam was down the rear brake pipes were done as well. Some nice new Dot 5.

Hub has had some thread repar inserted, so we shall see how that holds out.

Returned from an MOT passed no issues. Oil change and a new wiper motor and I am ready for Silverstone GP circuit in a few weeks time.

Well. The car was ready for Silverstone, but I wasn't. Raging Man Flu put a stop to laps. Car went round well being driven by my brother though.

Fortunately I did get some laps in later in the year at Brands which was great.

Need to chuck it on the battery maintainer and looking forward to an MOT and 6 months tax when the clocks change.
