Engine cut out
« on: 09 May 2016, 08:05 »
Hi all,

Just coming to the end of a regular 45 mile drive coasting towards a left turn at about 20mph and engine cuts out with no stuttering or struggling to fire. No power steering and battery light on and i`m sure I seen on the warning display saying alternator fault or alternator not working but defo alternator something came up then disappeared. Came to a stop so turned the key and she started straight up.

Got to my works car park and done a scan, nothing came up and have since drove home 45miles with no problem.

Any idea`s as if this happened at 70mph on the A46 I would of been in bit of a pickle.

Thanks in advance.

Stalled the golf yesterday and warning said "Alternator Workshop"

This may have been the case when it cut out

"idiot" springs to mind.
