i put my 8v golf on a weighbridge 2 weeks ago and it was 1260 kg and i weigh 83 kg so i cant c the figures are right as i dnt carry my spare wheel either

Well they were taken from Autocar and they know their stuff to be honest.

who says the weighbridge is 100% plus was the fuel in the tank taken into account in any of these figures?

It's in the 7s...With a passanger, and that is GPS accurate  :smiley:

Maybe but is yours 100% standard as it left the factory etc.

The weights listed will probably be the dry weights.  

Also, are you taking the mpg from the computer???  If you work it out by measuring the miles compared to amount of fuel used you'll find the true figure is somewhat different to what the computer says.  I suspect the autocar figures are the true figures and not the computer figures.
