centre console
« on: 16 October 2011, 18:29 »
Hi!
Ive just purchased my 1st Golf GTI Mk4 LOVE It!
The prevoius owner fitted an arm rest which I have been able to remove the bulk of. My problem is I have taken out the two screws at the gearstick end of the console and this frees up the front part of the console but cannot find a way to get the backend next to the ashtray loose. I need to remove the console to get at the 2 retainig bolts from the armrest pillar..  Anyone know how please??
Oh and I asume there is some blanking plate or receptical that will fill the gap from the armrest fiting ??
                  Thank you Aitch!

open the ashtray, pop the tray out and look down while your opening it There should be 2 holes that 2 screws that come into view once they are lined up

Hi. I've been looking on the net for this type of blanking plate because I want to remove my arm rest to. I never use it and I love the pictures in this thread. Can anyone let me know where I can pick one up please?
