just an update on the cheapo chinese gearknob which arrived eventually from ebay about £8 posted and its not bad!

Yeah i got one of them Dan, I just changed the gearknob to the original and kept the chrome and fake leather.

update - the leather frame keeps popping off  :undecided:

still look ok for £3 and the leather looks real

I put the gearknob on my standard gaitor because that was in decent condition. Looks great and obviously no problems with gaitor  :wink:

I've had one for a few months on mine, it is lasting great. It came in a packaging with the vw logo from hong kong, not a gen though. was about £7

ive got same looks loads better, the gaitor kept poppin out when goin into 2nd but undid clip and pushed knob down further  :rolleyes:
