oil slick on my drive!
« on: 03 July 2011, 19:07 »
Fired up me old girl today, first time in a while, left it running for a bit to warm up and shut up due to oil dry engine parts, only to find a lake of oil on drive leaking from what looks like sensor on top of oil filter housing,it has a rubber boot over it.ok easy enough to replace but what is it? Why would it piss oil, could it mean engine probs ?

It's just your oil pressure sensor mate.
Locate which one it is and go get a new one.there is a high and a low type so get the right one. They are colour coded if I recall :)
Simple fix

as above i changed mine the other day cost £4.65 from local motor factors.

there are 2 the one on the filter housing should have  a white top just open box when you buy it. he other has a brown/black top
