hi all. does a 1.8 turbo golf have a normal sump gasket

i have been on euro car parts and it seems to show a sealant instead. if this is the case whats the best thing to buy and best way to apply it

i use silicone, never had any problems  :lipsrsealed: i leave it a while to go off, then fill with oil.

A real 304bhp 286lbft in a mk4 golf!

Yupp Gasket sealant. Squirt it all the way round. And shove it in (on) :laugh:

Get it on the bay for about £9 look up item 120820807298 squeeze it on leave it 5 mins then bolt it up you'll only need about a 3mm bead.

A mate of mine got a rubber gasket for his Audi which he reused 3 times but ain't got a clue where he got it from but I couldn't find one

I used sealant on mine, has been fine.
