Title: Jon's Millenium mk4 1.8T
Post by: tigerj360 on 19 March 2012, 12:33
As some of you might know i have wanted a GTi for bloody ages and now i finally have one!

I took the long (ish) drive from Bracknell to Cambridge on saturday morning to go and see the car, it belonged to sveed1.8T on here and was the first one I had gone to look at after selling my astra, from the pics i knew it was very well looked after and when i arrived it really was as good as the pictures!

sveed was a great guy and filled me in on everything I wanted to know about the car, we took it for a test drive and I knew i had to buy it!

Anyway enough of the boring stuff heres the spec:

2000 Reg
1.8T ARZ Engine
R-Tech Remap
Pearlescent Black (R32 Black I think)
Bora Sport Clocks
Retro fitted Cruise Control
Original Recaro GTi Seats

I love it already and had a nice drive back with it and have already hammered through a fair bit of petrol, will have to have my eco head on from now on

Havent got many pics yet but heres a couple to get an idea and will get some more later:

Plans for now are to lower it a little bit and get some nice wheels!

Purchased a nice few extras now its payday.

So when they arrive I will be installing a Pipercross panel filter and a forge 007p.

What are peoples opinions on drilling the air box on a 1.8T? Am I better off just smoothing it out?

Right new bushes fitted, worked a treat! Stiffened up the front nicely

However while they were being done, we noticed one of the front wheel bolt covers had been super glued on to hide one of the locking wheel nuts being sheered off, so gunna need to get that sorted asap.

Also the car has been going into limp mode as it has the n75J or H fitted which was causing it to throw up the upper boost limit exceeded code on vag com. So I've got a N75F valve off the bay and will have that fitted to stop the limp

Forge arrives tomorrow and I was going to clean maf and throttle body today but waiting for the bloody rain to stop  :lipsrsealed:

Big update needed!

Got the forge fitted and it runs so much better now, along side the new n75.

Also went and purchased some new wheels today after saving for ages from Jnufcuk which are absolutely stunning since they were recently refurbished by martz. Here's a rubbish pic since it was dark when I got home:

18" vmr replicas, came with VW centre caps too! Will get better pictures tomorrow fitted, I'm expecting monster truck stance so will also be buying coil overs tomorrow and spacers with the rest of my money

Can't wait to see everything fitted now!

Thanks mate, I know they dont look fantastic untill its lowered. But I'm having to do things as I can afford them

Just rears at the moment, 20mm wide. Thinking 10mm at the front when I see some pop up

I meant brave in the fact that you may have spaced too much before checking how much clearance you have to drop.

So Saturday I'm heading over to Granta Gti's garage to get the coils fitted which he has kindly offered to help me fit

Then when I get back, will be fitting the CAI and giving her a clean to take some much needed updated pictures!
