Fitting a thermostat

Hi guys i have to fit a thermostat it is pretty important as have loads of miles to do over christmas and car is running cold thus burning more fuel, not to experienced with vw but i do know my way about a car.  What i am lookin for is someone who a has done it before on a vw golf gti but it is not the turbo one, i require this because doing things blind always throughs up hidden surprises and need to get job done quick as poss.  Cheers guys

not sure about the non turbo;s but on mine it was pretty easy. have a look on google, it said how to do it in my haynes manuel
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)
