VW Golf MK4 GTi Conversion,
« on: 01 July 2014, 22:48 »
Hiya all, Im new here but not new to conversions, I converted my Ford Fiesta to a 1.7 Puma engine years back but now im looking into converting my beloved Golf MK4,

I have a 1999/2000 Golf MK4 on an V plate, Its a 2.0 GTi 8v and ive heard there is not much you can do to this engine to make it any better than 115BHP,
Its highly modified inside and out but doesn't has enough power or a grunt to show off lol,

Im not sure on the engine code as i have a full boot build and its a ball ache to remove just to look at a sticker and i cant find it in the manuals but ive been told its a APK or AQY,

What 1.8T engine is easiest to covert to and will the Looms be plug and play kinda thing, :)

Easy enough to do the swap but so much needs changing then a donor car would be a good move.

But with mk4 values being so low, it makes little or no sense to do the swap.

As Wayne says it'd be easier to buy a 1.8T and swap your existing stuff over onto it.
