The pollen filter is near the scuttle before you start hunting in the dash!
It makes a difference to get a new one if not for the improvement of blower/de-mister.
The price of it is another issue

I used to pay VAG about £15, but that was back in 2000 proberly cheaper now?
Its one of those things that gets missed because people think its in the cabin

some parts are worth paying the extra to have the VW logo printed on them, cabin filters are not one of those parts

Can't be worse to get to than the Sh!taxy

Will give it a full service in a month or so The blowers/demister seems OK, but then the Sh!taxy's were very poor even after changing the pollen filter and pulling out all the leaves!

It's down by the pedals, like on the A4.

On my A4 (1999) the ODB port is under a flap (with the rear passenger ashtray) behind the handbrake between the front seats.

That's the earlier A4, i meant 2001 onwards, which is the same as the Passat.

Defo under the steering wheel / driver dash, just had a look, and quite possibly a tw@t of a position for a vag com cable or Bluetooth OBDII dongle
