But it's still a golf....
Sorry...
You could spend £10k on a scooby/evo and still be as quick..

I think for £40k, they'd be other things on my list.

Well its down to opinion I guess. But i can see the appeal with having the fastest golf in the Uk. Its only £40k because it appears someone is trying to make some money from it. You could get the same thing done yourself for about 15k!

You may call it "just a golf" for 40k but if you look at a BMW 3 series.. a basic edition can be bought for just over 25k where as the M3 is 55k... but its still an 3 series???

As for Scooby or Evo.... wouldnt be seen dead in one (thats just my opinion ofcourse)

thats like saying you could get a mk4 R32 supercharged with 450bhp for 20k and that would pi$$ all over the Evo :lipsrsealed:

Who on earth would want a evo, scobby whatever they are anyway.Alright they may be quick but look sh!t! Come on guys stay loyal to the brand!

JAP RICER equals  CHAV,CHAV CHEAP PLASTIC TACKY INTERIORS STUPID BODYKITS and DRIVEN BY BLOKES IN REPLICA RALLY JACKETS!!

EURO GOLF equals   QUALITY, STYLE,  EXCELLENT RESIDUALS, so easy to live with day to day allround.
Fair enough the jap ricers are quick but not my cup of tea,i,l keep it europeon any day.The jap machines just dont have the quality and image i want to portray.
But each to their own.

Chrissy.

Oh don't get me wrong chrissy...
I'm not saying the R32 is a bad car, but I'd only have a standard one... if I had 37k in my pocket, I wouldn't think (or want) to spend it on a R32.. 400bhp or not!.

Mind you if you look on the AUDI website  06 plate RS4,S are approaching 40k. Suppose i,d be tempted by that mind! rather than a 40 k golf.

To be fair that golf is overpriced.. but may just tempt someone who is not quite in the know. Like i said you could pick up an used r32 for 20k add a bi-turbo for 10k and you have got a 550bhp supercar slayer for 30k approx... which would make a RS6 look like a pram. All hypothetically speaking ofcourse...

I wouldnt do it.. but i guess the temptation is there to have a car that would make others look a little stupid when they have paid much more for their cars.

The difference between the Scooby/Evos is that you just wouldnt expect it from a golf.... where as a Scooby or Evo would probably be plastered with stickers and go faster stripes etc. The Golf still has the respect value in my opinion.. where as the others dont, and are just exactly what they are.. a fast car. :nerd:
