Before anyone says it needs to go lower its due for MOT in the next few weeks so dont wanna mess about lowering it to raise it again so it will b going lower after MOT

Post by: RattyGTi on 22 August 2012, 06:12: cheers for all the good comments so far guys :) had a few problems with doing the brake conversion etc, so im running 13mm spacers on the front as the wheels were abit close to the caliper & 10mm spacers on the rear :), yea im also thinking a badged grill will look better :)

What's the steering like at the front at slow speeds? A mate has a G60 Corrado with 9inch Borbets all round and that felt horrible! He will be switching to 7.5's on the front.

Also due to my back box falling off which was horrid to start with & i never got round to takinng it off but over the weekend i replace with a section of pipe so just need to smooth the rear bumper :smiley:

Post by: RattyGTi on 09 January 2013, 11:36: not much of an update guy but the new back bumper is all ready for plastic welding the vento bonnet & grill are gettin started tonight & i shud have new front wings orederd in the next few days vento left front wing with no aerial hole & camber shim shud b ordered end of the month but im not sure if -1.5 will b enough to get my 9's in & go lower :undecided: does any1 know it it will b enough??

Camber is not enough!!! You need to roll the lip flat then push the arch out. Front will be a issue if you want to go really low. Put fall camber on the front too! Still might rub with pulled out arch.

Try getting smaller sidewall tyres. They give more room than narrow tyres.

Camber shims. Don't put the 20-20 at top. Have driver side at 18-18 and passenger side 22-22. Have numbers facing you when fitting on both sides.

If you want to go low then 17-17 and 23-23

Post by: RattyGTi on 19 January 2013, 10:57: i did a 5 stud hub conversion off my old gti & the brakes are 280mm where as the standard estae ones are 256mm on coz of the et of the wheels when i tightend the wheel up it hit the caliper so needed abt 11/12mm spacers to clear the caliper by 1/2mm

by 6pm it looked like this after pullin the wings off as there were completely rotten

by 9:30pm it looked like this front gril was only rested in place as hte black on it was still dryin abit

by 10pm the back end looked like this with the exhaust cut out gone & bumper fitted

by 10:30 it looked like this with the grill in place properly the front wheels swapped over
