Check to see if you have a caliper sticking.
Take the car for a short drive and avoid using the brakes as much as possible. Just a few miles should be enough. Then go around and feel each brake disk (carefully) for heat. If any are really hot, you have a sticking caliper. It's very common with low mileage use.

I have a golf gti mark 7 2019. It has done 10000 miles
I was getting up to 52 mpg for a long time and during the last 6 months this has reduced to 33 on a run driving at 55.  Driving on a regular route.  When in fifth or sixth gear it feels like it is in third gear.  In fact on a shorter run I get better mileage.  I have never experienced this before.  I have been the owner of four Gti during the last 35 years!  I have the same driving style.
It has been checked out and no faults found
The tyres are inflated to 38.
The brakes have been cleaned
No faults show on the dash.
I am informed there is nothing wrong with it!  That they are thirsty cars!
Please could someone help me?
Thank you.

Mine passed it's MoT today and had an aircon service. They also checked the sunroof drains which were fine. Will get the krytox out soon and lubricate the seals.

Most of the Mk8 software bugs were not really infotainment ones (some were but not many), they were actually caused by the communication with the hundreds of different sensors and control units around the car.... or those components themselves.

For example... the SOS unit (which caused infotainment reboots or bongs or both), the V2X module which caused more bongs or the steering wheel which caused loads of bongs. All of those were faults in the modules themselves...

The only thing I can think of that was infotainment issues itself was one where the climate sync used to switch itself off.

Golf mk8 / Re: Mk8 headlights and wheels

Sorry to bring up an old topic, it’s hard to find other reports of mk8 headlight issues.

My car is booked in to have one of the headlights adjusted (the unit not the beam) as it’s been seated incorrectly at the factory. Did VW manage to remove your front bumper, swap the headlight and refit without any damage? I’m incredibly nervous about this work on my car, it’s only 4 months old since new. Do you know how they also calibrated the light after swapping it as my local dealership is giving out conflicting info on what needs to be done?

Thanks in advance
