Quick boot build, amateurish I know.


Interesting that you've put the fused end of the power cable in the boot if your battery is at the front....  :shocked:  Not going to give you any protection if the wire gives you a fault.
Really? I just assumed the fuse would blow where ever it is in the power cable.

Really? I just assumed the fuse would blow where ever it is in the power cable.

Don't know how best to explain this in short.

With the fuse where it is you are only protecting the final length of wire in your boot from the holder to the amp.  If you were to short the wire anywhere else before the fuse, the power would take the shortest route through the body, back to the battery easily causing a fire hazard.

Worse case scenario,  think of it this way, if the wires cover was to fail or was chaffing on something anywhere between the battery and your back seat area and eventually grounded, the stray power from the battery wouldn't even make it to the fuse, hence why they are always under the bonnet very close to the battery.

That make sense or do I sound like i'm talking cr@p?  :grin:
