Wheel bolts
« on: 05 November 2016, 13:36 »
Should these be replaced at any point?

Just taken the wheels off ready for a refurb and noticed that the bolts are covered in corrosion and rust.

Should I put new ones on? These are original at 10 years old but VW have never mentioned it.

How much are the bolts?

Are they wheel specific?

No just need the right thread.
If you put in something like mk5 golf wheel bolts theyll come up. Either a set of 20 or 24 dependant on locking wheel nuts or not

They are wheel specific - depends on which ones you have. There are two different types of seat - ball and cone seats.
Genuine VW bolts are always the same seat type, the other is usually used on aftermarket wheels.

VW quoted £4.50 per bolt.

I'm just going to clean up the existing bolts!
