I have a mk3 8v and i have come to realise recently that i just don't give a sh:t it does the job i want it to do i can get more than enough out of it to lose my licence or kill myself and others so i dont really care.O and its comfy.Still planning on getting a mk1 or mk2 though at some point..

I think to be honest its down to a matter of personal taste!
Both are good cars, just depends on what you want out of a car.

I've had a Mk2 16v and a Mk3 16v, and I definately prefer the Mk2. It's more raw, more fun.

Mk2 16v all the way, unless you can stretch to a mk3 vr6,
then there is no comparison
