dont know if i can be bothered wiring it all up again, i may do... got my cage for my old alpine headunit, do i need to go to VW and get them to take the stereo out?

also, someone said something about not having to get the power lead through the bulkhead as you can do something under the steering wheel?

step by step guide would be great!

AMP + SUB + HU...

bridged channels to sub and one channel each to the speakers... but they are only the standard GTI ones at the mo so will they blow up if i stick 100 watts though them?

speakers only draw what they need to. you only blow them by playing distortion through them. It's likely they're only rated at a paltry 30w (random guess)

you can take your own headunit out no problem there. you'll need keys to do it though.

There is a hole near the steeering wheel in a A3, possibley the same one exists in a mk4 golf?

Minimum of 4 gauge cable I would advise.
