Gave my car it's first proper clean this morning.
Snow foam first then 2 bucket wash, clay and then a full application of Gtechniq C2v3.
A few things I learned were
1 - wo-wo micro fibres are the dogs, superb product and I will be ordering more asap.
2 - C2v3 is amazing and will be my go to product due to it's incredibly easy application.
3 - I really need to buy some poor boys wheel sealant and find a tyre dresser I like, recommendations welcome.
4 - I need to find a really good glass cleaner, again I would appreciate any input.
5 - I will be buying a clay mitt or similar !

Looks amazing.

Glass cleaner - Gtechniq G6 Perfect Glass is the best, closely followed by Autoglym Fast Glass

Tyre Dressing - Achem Long Life Tyre Dressing is the best, closely followed by Meguiars Endurance Gel.

http://www.achem.co.uk/shop/product-details.php?prdID=62  The price is great, however the delivery charge is a bit steep but if you get 5ltr it's cost effective. Silicone based so excellent durability and longevity, but goes on with the ease of a water based gel.  No sling and lasts and lasts.

Other tyre dressings to consider - Gtechniq T1 and Gyeon Q2 Tyre.

I've been using C2v3 on my alloys in place of Poorboys Wheel Sealant and great results.  Couple coats once a month works well.  For a full on wheel protection look at Gtechniq C5 but that's a wheels off job.  Chemical guys have just brought out a new wheel sealant, so maybe worth a look.  http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/chemical-guys-wheel-guard/prod_197.html

I've heard you mention the Achem tyre dressing before Rebecca and it's the one I will go for I think.
The Gtechniq glass cleaner does look good I have to say.
I never thought of using the C2v3 on my wheels but I will now!
Thanks Mrs B, have a great weekend

Wo-wo MFs are indeed the business, I'm going to order another set soon. C2v3 is good stuff too, am going to put a 2nd coat on mine and parents car when I get the chance. I've got c5 on my wheels which is amazing stuff, but plan to try the c2v3 on parents qashqai alloys as I don't think they will want to spring the £40 for a bottle of c5!

I use AG fastglass and its very good. Might try the gtechiniq one as I'll need to order some more soon.

Use poor boys natural look on my tyres but it only lasts a couple of days so will need to invest in some proper dressing when funds allow.

Thanks Dave, it's just the tyres letting it down at the moment but 5 litres of Achem wheel dressing will sort that out

You're quick off the mark!

And 5ltrs of Achem Long Life Tyre Dressing will certainly sort that out.  It is superb stuff. It was Neil at WoWo who first told me about it, so eternally grateful to him, because until that point I had never settled on a tyre dressing that really met all my criteria.

It's a silicone based formula but thinner than most other silicone dressings, so it applies very easily - goes on more like a water based gel, but with the lovely finish and repellency you get with silicone formulas.  And it lasts and lasts and lasts - product info states durability is 2-3 weeks but I would say more like up to 4 weeks, which is good for a tyre dressing. And no sling at all.  Despite its slightly misleading name, it’s actually incredibly versatile in terms of finish and can be anything from matt/satin - satin - gloss depending on how you apply it and how many coats you put on.  For a matt finish, give a thorough wipe over after each application.  For a satin finish, give a light wipe over each application, and for a shine, skip the wipe down altogether.  Whatever finish you prefer one coat gives a great finish, two coats even better.

I apply it using a foam pad and then wipe down lightly afterwards with an old microfibre, as I prefer a satin finish opposed to hi-shine. Usually I do two coats, time permitting.  Here's how it looks (current and previous car):

And here's it is 5 weeks after application, on a very dirty car, the tyre dressing (though diminishing) is still evident, despite the wheels being subject to some very muddy sites and conditions.  No other tyre dressing I've ever tried has lasted more than 2 weeks tops.

Their trade counter is in Alfreton... would be so tempting to go pick some of that up next week as I'll be down in Sheffield, however, this would not go down very well with the Mrs as she doesn't really know of the cost or time spent on cleaning the car!

I had a bit of a nightmare claying my car today. A combination of the sun beating down and dodo juice 'born slippy' was making a right old mess. I think the clay mitt is the way forward. I believe you use one Rebecca, how do u find it?
