Front windscreen wipers won't park

Hi all,
 I can't get my wipers to park.
 when I cancel the stalk they sit in the middle of the screen. Ive replaced the motor for a new one and swapped the relay bit no difference  any ideas please

To lift the wipers on the Golf, you must first park the car, kill the ignition, then hold the wiper stalk on the steering column down for a few moments. This moves the wipers into “service position”—essentially to the top of their stroke against the windshield

Could`ve sworn you were asking how to put the wipers in the service position
