I *think* my Mk7 GTD had comfort for steering... I'd guess it was a 7.5 "feature" to not have it available in the menu now.

It's probably there buried in the software, but just not selectable now...

My 66 reg with DSG doesn't have a Comfort setting for steering.
Might be present with DCC.

Found something in steering assist. Felt lighter in Comfort to me (normally have steering set to Sport)....

I'll have another quick look and see if you can maybe unlock it somewhere so you can just choose it in driving profile selection as well.

Strike that - think only way is with VCDS in 44.

hiya,  hope you don't mind me asking but was this checked on a 7.5?
i've been to vw and bloke said there's nowt they can do even thiough the lady at vw said it should be doable..lol ? :(

just had a phone call there now sending a technical query to vw :)

VWUK aren't always the most accurate source of info... there is plenty of info on this forum which they don't know.

Needs someone to actually check this out with VCDS on a 7.5...

maxie, what air pressures do you run your tyres at?
Upping the pressures to a higher but still within tolerance level is a very simple way of making quite a difference to the steering feel.

What's the max pressure for a fully loaded car?
I'd keep it well under that but you could go slightly above the half load figure.
Increase it 2psi front and 1psi rear then maybe that again if it doesn't start to feel a bit twitchy.
Bearing in mind the road surfaces aren't at their best right now it's not the ideal time to start exploring handling limits on the public roads with summer tyres fitted

If there's someone friendly local to me with a mk7.5 I could scan their car and see if you can still do the mod in steering assist module like on my pre-FL GTD.
