Alarm keeps going off.
« on: 02 June 2017, 22:55 »
Hello
The alarm on my golf keeps going off and won't disable. Weird thing is that it's only a problem when the car is unlocked, as far as I'm aware it never goes off when locked.
Even starting the engine doesn't stop the alarm. After about 5-6 time of it sounding it stops on its own.
Not sure if it's related but the interior light also flash and make clicking noises. I'm wondering if it's the battery.
Any help will be very much appreciated.

Had a similar proplem with an s3. I noticed that the fob is dead and its not unlocking the passenger door. So it sets the alarm off. What i did was unlock passenger door and it seems to sort it out.

Hopefully it's that easy, will try the spare key and see how it goes.
Cheers

Sounds like an issue on the ccm.

Get that scanned with VCDS, also check door lock measuring blocks.

Where are you from?
Get someone with VCDS to scan, garage will do the same but charge you an awful lot more.

Gloucester, it's going in for some other work and they said they can take a look at the same time. Got a friend with VCDS and he's gonna try and see it too.

My guess is that CCM has cold solder spots that have cracked.
Interior light error message in CCM is a usual indicator for this (in bold below, ignore the heated mirror errors).

If that's the fault then resolder all major joints on the PCB.

that also tends to mean that one door won't always open and can change to which one as well. Interior light not working is a telltale sign too.
