Problems!..2.0, 8V gTI
« on: 10 December 2016, 14:28 »
Ok, my first post !
Drove the Mk3 2.0, 8v to my mates , started first thing , no probs; came back to the car 40 mins later- wont start.
Sounded like 'no spark'..wd40 everything likely, checked every fuse, added new fuel- still no go.
Then on inserting key again, no warning lights, fuel gauge doesnt move..
Called RAC
After half an hour , nothing!..disconnected battery, etc- zilch!
Then attaches electronic analysis computer & all it tells him is that the ABS is fine!
Towed home with no real idea where to start....the only additional pointers are that the elcrtic windows 7 the horn dont work- but lights, indicators, radio, etc do...

ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS , before i take it to a garage & pay a mint to fix it?!!
Many thanks

Not yet- you mean a simple plug test, yeah?
ill do that tomorrow...but im more worried about the lack of warning lights & functions? ..would seem more like a unit failure, to have so much not work..(?)
