Not masses to report, just bought one of these for it:

Also fitted LEDs to all the interior lights, I'm waiting on number plate ones to arrive as well.

This is now on the road and the MK4's days are numbered!

Got snapped going into a local meet:

Fitted my RCD510 before, such a nice upgrade!

It is indeed! I've had a browse of your topic on MK5golfgti, nice car you've got :afro:

Not really got anything much to update this with at the moment, slowly shifting the MK4 parts. Need to get the car itself sold and assess finances before deciding what to do next with this one.

Whilst checking tyre pressures earlier I noticed this....

The dreaded Mk5 rust

I'm going to pop into a dealers tomorrow and start a warranty claim, not holding out too much hope for it but it's worth a shot. Otherwise I'll have to bite the bullet and pay for it to be done myself.

My only concern is that the previous owner had the bumper repainted and the wings were blended in. I reckon they'll refuse the warranty claim on the basis that it's had paint.

Yeah they're 18's, no idea on width or offset though. I'm gonna have them off in the next couple of weeks to paint my calipers so I'll check full specs then.

Warranty claim on the wings was rejected due to them having paint in the past, bonnet has also had paint and possibly filler due to high reading.

I've sourced replacement wings for £30 each from a mate who works in a body panel centre, non-gen but insurance approved so fitment should be fine. Getting quotes for paint at the moment, hopefully get it sorted within a couple of weeks.

Because the standard ones are rusty, there's no point trying to repair them because it'll always end up coming back, it will also save on labour costs.
