Title: HELP PLEASE- WATER PUMP CHANGE NOW CAR WONT START

Hi hope someone can help me please. Just had water pump changed in my 1989 MK2 GTI 8v. Now it will turn over but wont start. Any ideas?

Should be no reason why it wouldnt start after waterpump change.
Have you checked for spark
All i can think is the ign amp has gone or the coil and its just coincidence its happened.
Can you here the fuel pump with ignition on

Cambelt on correctly as in not slipped?

shouldn't have to touch the cam belt when changing the mk2 water pump, but as lemski said "could just be a coincidence". could be something unrelated.
