Went to get a quote to get two bad stone dents done after only 5 days ownership, 330 miles and the car parked outside the house. 480 quid and it's booked in tomorrow and Wednesday to have god knows what painted on the offside. well and truly p4ssed off!!

Jeez! High speed stone chip from passing traffic whilst parked outside your house? Maybe these new stiffer and thinner body panels for weight saving aren't as strong as VW would have us believe. Any particular panels looking most susceptible?

I have a tiny dot of a stone chip just above one of the wing side badges (noticed 2nd time I washed the car, 1 week into ownership). Not sure how it got there as it would seem that the bulge of the wheel arch should more than cover the point of impact from the car in front. The top red coat looks very thin.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

the same thing happened on the tiguan but the paint on the golf hasn't chipped. problem is though the dent is too deep for a pdr fix. council haven't been round sweeping the remains of hard core up they've been using for remedial works so I've just been unfortunate. moved the car from outside to a side street so shouldn't happen again.

Have you tried putting a claim into the council for the damage in much the same way as people do (usually not successfully) for potholes? If your damage is in a place that makes it highly unlikely that you sustained it from being behind someone on the open road then you could have a case if the council or it's subcontractors have been negligent in keeping the road clear whilst or after working upon it. Get some pics of the hard core riddled road and your car damage ASAP then contact your council.

Nope, pictures of what I found are on the ride height thread, it was all bare apart from the white cone bump stops at the top, I honestly did not believe they were out until I looked myself
