also gibby on the way to e38 last year, it being the same weekend as the vw action one, i beeped and waved at loads of aircooled vw's and they all looked at me like i was some chavvy boy racer! 
I'm not saying that air-cooled will acknowledge water cooled because if you go on the air-cooled forums some of them do think that we're all turbos, loud music and chavvy hats, but at the end of the day that's their ignorance. If you look at my post I said that apart from mk1s I don't get any acknowledgments but I meant from other marques, i.e. water to water where as in my van I always get acknowledged by other campers/beetles etc so air to air ! You muppet !

Oh yeah, Golfchicks reply doesn't make sense though does it, because just because you drive a VW it doesn't mean you go to meets, shows and are into it does it.
