I know someone that has those wheels on a Corsa.

Surely you can bolt a turbo on?

To the OP: Don't listen to me...  :lipsrsealed:

dont think so m8, surely you would need to change the fueling and air ratios and stuff, so remap? ohh and dont forget you need a turbo, turbo manifold, downpipe, intercooler, boost pipes, all that stuff. Quite a lot of hassle really to make a mk4 1.8 into a mk4 1.8t!!

LL ;)

There are myriad differences between NA and turbo, not least you would need to lower the compression ratio to accommodate the boost.  Unless you do that (which is stacked headgaskets, or low-compression pistons) then you would only be able to tickle it with boost before you run into detonation issues and all sorts of unpleasantness.

The NA and the turbo are such different engines that really you're going to have to swallow your pride and sell the existing car, unless you want to spend nigh-on the value of it to install a 1.8T.

Could be worse - you might have bought the Golf4 2.0 8V 'GTI'.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Not that simple thou, my car is on finance......

Pic of it :)

Is that photoshopped?

Either way its not my cup of tea. lol
whats not to like except the wheels and the drop...the drop must be coillies or else that'll be bottoming out so easy to change and the wheels are easy enough to change the rest is standard?

Sure you can do it. But it'll cost so much in parts and time, that it would be cheaper and less hassle to sell it and buy a 1.8T.

You would need to change so many parts on your original engine to do it that it would be easier to just swap the whole engine. No matter which way you do it, you'll need an ECU with the correct mapping for a turbo, so that will also mean you need the loom, keys, locks and clocks to go with it.
The cheapest way to do it would be to buy either the full engine, turbo, g-box, ecu and wiring from a crashed car and then swap them over, or to buy a complete crashed car with everything for the swap.
But this would cost you a fair amount.

If you got it on finance, talk to the finance company tell them you want to change your car for a 1.8T, and ask them if they'll let you sell your current car and buy the 1.8T. They will probably do it if you agree to a new finance deal on the new car.

Oh and if you want to see what's involved in swapping a 1.8T engine into a non-turbo Mk4, check out Ashmond's project http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=58241.0
Which went from a bottom of the line 1.4 to a 1.8T.
