Kalimon, Rebecca - my 17 year old daughter has just had her hair dyed grey.  So there you are - grey makes you look like a teenager!
That Tungsten Silver looks very good I must say.  I've ordered Reflex Silver so I hope I won't be casting envious looks at Tungsten Silver Golfs.
Bubba.
mk7 GTI now sold.  Gone but not forgotten.

Or save yourself £3.95 and just get a massive piece of cardboard, a thick marker pen and write your own. Ensure the cardboard sign is so big it fills the entire dash, ensuring even the most unobservant technician can't miss it.  That plus a luggage label sign on keys, instruction written on worksheet and highlighted with highlighter pen (bring your own if necessary, lol) and verbal instruction to the point where they live in fear of you. That does the trick.

That would work as well

BTW Booth were you on the Stratford Upon Avon to Solihull road yesterday at around 5:25pm? I was heading back to Solihull. Black R, female driver with light-ish coloured hair heading towards Stratford.

Not me, I'm currently NOT sunning myself on the windswept and freezing cold island of Fuerteventura (never again!).

And, no kalimon, you cheeky b*st@rd, I do not have grey hair (yet), it's still blonde(ish) if currently a little unkempt due to the aforementioned Canarian gales!!!

I want to come home and rescue my R from it's Gatwick car park prison.

I'm close to Gatwick - let me know which car park and I'll make sure it's well looked after while you are away!

If you can find it, you can have it.

If you go to the Canaries, it has to be Tenerife. I go most years and it doesn't suffer from the sh!tty high winds some of the other islands do.
Grey's the new blonde or so my wife keeps telling me Rebecca ( she's nearly as old as me though)

Apparently these are some of the worst winds they've had in years.

Been to Tenerife - hated it.  Been to Gran Canaria - not impressed.  Been to Lanzarote - quite liked it.  Now Fuerteventura - hate it.  Canaries - never again, it's had its chances.  Call me a snob but will stick to our usual long haul destinations - Indian Ocean - Maldives, Mauritius etc, and Caribbean, plus further afield. Anyway not our main holiday, going to St Lucia in July/Aug - beautiful island.  Will wash away the memory of this woeful trip.

I'm sure the new trendy grey will soon be upon me.  Actually white probably, natural blondes tend to go white rather than grey, and I'm starting to notice a few of the pesky little white devils now.  Can't hold back time.  I'll be the incredible detailing granny.......how sad is that.

When you have smooth, unblemished, unlined skin and the bloom of youth, and a ton of boundless energy, as I'm sure your lovely daughter does, you can carry off a trendy grey 'do'.

Finally our Deep Pearl Black 5 Door GTI arrived at lunchtime today.

After asking the dealer just to remove the wraps and stickers and leave it untouched and then a 240 mile drive up the M6/M74 today in the pouring rain the car arrived totally bogging!

At 7pm the rain stopped and the sun came out so out i went to clean the wheels with Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel and give it a quick wash.

Wheels came up great with lots of bleeding and the car now looks nice and clean but jeez the paintwork is totally covered in fallout/iron deposits which really surprised me as the car was only built 2 weeks ago. The roof, bonnet and tailgate are all fine as they were protected with covers.

Anyway iron x lemon scent arriving tomorrow so that will deal with the fallout/iron in due course.

So i am thinking i am glad i took it away unwashed as i bet the dealers don't use anything like iron x when they prep the car but instead just polish the fallout/iron into the paintwork hence the damage they cause to the paintwork.

Will let you know how the iron x performs in due course but so far i am glad i took it away unwashed.

And as for the car itself it is totally totally totally totally amazing.

Congratulations on your new GTI.  Very wise decision not to have the dealer prep your car, especially as it's a DBP.

Don't get excited about the lemon scented Iron X actually smelling of lemons rather rotten eggs.....it doesn't, there's no masking that sulphurous smell, lol. But it's every bit as good as the non citrussy version for removing fallout and iron deposits. Just remember to throw away any cloth you use with it.  Do not put it in your washing machine, your other half may never speak to you again if you do.

When you've finished it's beauty treatment post up some pics of you get the chance.

St Lucia was my late wife's favourite place, we when there on our honeymoon albeit a few weeks late as I had to leave the day after our wedding to go to Macau for a race. I haven't been back in years but from what I have heard from other that have it is very commercialised now compared to back then.

Visited several years ago, and was not too commercialised at that point but will see how/if that has changed this summer.  Hopefully not been ruined!

Same happened to Cuba which was relatively unspoilt about 20 years ago, albeit extremely poor due to US embargo. Different story now, parts are very commercialised.  And they don't half flog the Ernest Hemingway connection to death, lol.

Maldives remains in top spot in my holiday list.  Next trip there in a year or two will be our 8th, and not the last.  Once daughter is a little older will be looking at Malaysia/Indonesia/Vietnam as a future trip.

Nothing worse than a holiday snob
Go to right areas in Tenerife and you'd be pleasantly surprised.
I thought this was a Golf forum anyway , not trip advisor  :undecided:

Talk-torque, you've done a top job on detailing your car, I'll be very happy with mine if it's like that when I go to collect my GTD(Saturday hopefully) and I'm paying for a detailer to prep my car at the dealers. After seeing the excellent guide which was done by Booth11 I'm kind of gutted I haven't had the guts to detail the car myself but I'd not have trusted myself to do it to the standard which a lot of you seem to have managed.

Booth11, we were in Fuerteventura last September, it wasn't too windy for us but we noticed it was a lot windier at the Corralejo end of the island when we travelled around for a couple of days. We were out on a boat and seen some Hump Back Whales breaching which was an amazing sight, that made the holiday for me, I'd swam with dolphins the year before in the Caribbean and seeing the whales matched that.

Hope you manage to enjoy the rest of your holiday
