Just bought the car and is totally standerd but im up for it, give me chance to meet all you guy and ask your advie where to start. Where are they based?

like alot of you guys i am also very interested, but also the date is the main concern for me, also its a long old drive up from plymouth. i have spoken to nick and hes advised me what to do to get more power before havin it RR. but i just cant bite the bullet and part with the money, im not currently well enough to even sit in my car let alone drive it after i had some surgery last week spent all this week in bed..... not fun.
il keep my eyes on this topic and see how it goes..

Hello Guys,
We are looking at the 28th of March??? The day before the GTI spring show at Santa Pod, so it might be worth comming down and killing 2 birds with one stone that weekend. RR day on the sat then the show Sunday? Santa Pod is around 40 mins from where we are.
We could push 20 cars for the day, Problem we have is Parking & access to the dyno.
We have been working with transmission losses this week so you can see the power graph in the generic way which most other rolling roads provide.
Here is what our dynocom rolling road works like at the moment it is used for held loaded development practice not power runs. We will have to change the way we work so the graphs look like the ones you are used to.
A midrange snap shot mode of bhp Vs Torque vrs RPM from 2500rpm to 6000rpm (a realistic pull as if you where on the road or race track).
This run was from a Bora 1.8T AUM snapshot1 std 150bhp map = 119bhp/130lbft@wheels snapshot3 spec1 remap = 167bhp/185lbft@wheels. +47bhp @ 55lbft+ at the wheels without the turbo hitting over boost. The look of the grahp shows how the car performs on the road going up the gear box hard. Bringing the snap shot start RPM down would have given a lot greater torque and bhp, but it would not reflect what ther car feels like on the road.
We are stuck in the way of our motorsport back ground not reatil work :rolleyes:.

To be honest Nick I think you should stick with measured figures at the wheels. I'd rather know a proper, measured figure than a calculated one any day of the week.

gona be a gud day this ill be happy with 200bhp + 200lb torque its a K03s AUM 1.8T with only a R-TECH map just had full service with MAF and throttle body clean so fingers crossed? dont care if i come last aslong as i get my predicted figures ill be happy

As far as i am aware at this point in time they are the same design clips as the standard ones. I don't think the hose clamps have been put into full production yet, i could be wrong :undecided:
If they are not in production soon i may get some made for myself as they are the perfect solution to a very bad design fault by VW.

no you're right - the clamps are being developed as we speak / type
the kit utilises the same shoddy clip design as VW so until thats resovled the kit ain't worth the cash IMO

i would have thought you'd need to be there approx 8.45am for a briefing etc and to start the day going as with 20 cars its going to be a busy day

It will be a very very busy day.. :laugh: We want to get the 1st car on the dyno for 9am.
You turn up fill a form in saying if we blow your car up.. we will provide tissues as a extra cost.
1st come 1st served.. We will dyno cars as people turn up and sign on, So there is no pre fixed order, which means no one need to rush getting to us for 9am, if you want you can turn up at around dinner if your trip is long one.
All cars will have vagcom checks data logged for boost and lambda (if we can on your car)
ALL R-Tech customers will have the option to have the latest gen software loaded to there car for FREE, Plus if your thinking of de-catting or fitting a sports cat to your car now is the time to do it so we can remap the post cat sensor threshold to stop the EML comming on. You will have the chance to drive ethe car before the dyno runs to fully adapt the new software.

Time is the limiting factors which means we might only get 2 runs per car, due to engine cooling periods as strappind down time.
All runs will be exact power outputs at the wheels so no correction factors will be added to the graph, but we can add the drag factors afterwards to the graph to give a ball part Fly wheel BHP.

There's still more than 20 people listed hoping to go to this RR.
Some of the lucky (or first) 20 might be wanting to get some work done to their car before going?
For the unlucky remainder, they can look for a different RR day and schedule any work they want doing (before they go to RR) to suit them.
For example, it's looking likely that there won't be any spaces for me, so I'll probably not ask my mechanic to do any engine/performance related work this tuesday and just work on the suspension (bushes and arbs). Also gives me time to shop/save for other things :smiley:

I've booked in for laser surgery on my eyes on 26th, so there is a risk I'll not be able to attend. If I can't drive though, I'll be trying to get a mate to drive me/my car, or else I'll just be wearing big shades all day.. Or the op could be postponed..
Point is, there is a slim risk of a last minute cancel, so those on the reserve list, keep an 'eye' out in case I have to get my wife to post up and cancel :grin:

I am really looking forward to Saturday, a bit of nervs building up to it but I have the support from Ben and Alex and Graham at xspec. Got to do some mock runs friday to see how long each runs will take from strapping down to pulling the car off.
To make things easier it would help if you can connect the front towing eye, check the tyre pressures, oil, and water and switch air con system off. We will do a quick visual check of every car and plug the laptop in to check for fault codes.

Be careful doing that! I was tightening the little hose up that sits behind the IC with a ratchet, & the bastardo pinged off. This was about 10 pm monday night :angry: - Wasn't very happy, lol! :D
I had to take an emergency 1/2 day off the next day to get it all sorted! :D I spent about an hour going to & from Halfords/handy-man shops trying to get a big enough clip! :laugh:

So 6am give or take how long it takes to fill up a full tank mate, reckon i may be 5-10 mins behind but i'll put my foot down around here as it's known territory :evil:
