9/10 times if a car has been debadged its because the owner wants to hide the fact its pants.  I've seen them all, bmw 318d, audi a3 1.6, audi a4 2.0 tdi, golf 1.6 etc etc - in my experience, if a car has been debadged then unless someone's tuned the fook out of the engine, it is slow as you like and trying to blend in with the higher spec versions.

The only time I've seen a higher spec car debadged was my old boss, who had a bmw 535d - he didn't want anyone knowing how quick it was, but to be honest the twin exhausts were a dead giveaway so debadging was pointless.

I've debadged mine completely and it was well worth doing with my car.  It makes it a real Q car, especially from behind.  Only the real enthusiasts take a second look to confirm their thoughts
