One report said it was the first time that the GTI has been specced with side badges.
Being a GTI anorak I beg to differ!!
Many early mk2 GTIs (and lots of Johnny Foreigner mk2 GTIs) had the side repeater holes blanked off with a GTI badge. I thank you (takes a bow).
