Yesterday ordered a set of RGM sill protectors from jjcraceandrally on the 'bay, £35.16 delivered.
Arrived this morning, less than 24hours later.
Now fitted and polished and they look very good indeed.
I had already fitted the RGM rear sill protector so had some experience of how to go to do it, that said the door items are not as easy as the rear (which was a doddle by comparison).
My process;
Polished each protector with Tesco's Black Carnauba shoe polish (£1.10p)
Cleaned the surface with Autogleam screen cleaner (from SWMBO kit)
Cleaned the surface with 3M cleaning pads supplied with the protectors
Masked each end of the required position with tape
Removed the red covering from the upper tape
Lower tape pointy end detach +2" so enough hangs down below the lower edge for you to grip
Lay first 1/4" of the entire horizontal top edge down first
Then holding it down firmly slide the protector onto the top radius
Press down the upper tape firmly
Grip the end of the red tape and slowly remove, pressing down as you work your way to the end.
Buffed up the protectors with kitchen paper.
Tip; Start at the door you use the least, if you get it wrong pull it off very quickly and firmly, the hotter the day the better 35C while I fitted mine.
Any future problems I will post.
