Parking sensor pushed in
« on: 26 October 2020, 09:11 »
I noticed the other day that one of my rear parking sensors is partially pushed in. I'm not sure how it happened but it seems like the plastic circle is now only loosely held on at the top and that I could easily push it all the way through. Does anyone have experience with this? I hope I won't have to remove the bumper to fix it...

This is my first car with parking sensors and I guess it's true what they say about more to go wrong...

I don’t have a mk6 but I would think it’s probably a bumper off job as the sensors are attached to the bumper from the reverse side. Alternatively, if it’s one of the two inner sensors, is it possible to gain access by removing just the lower black diffuser section of the rear bumper?

Here’s a couple of YouTube videos showing the rear bumper cover being removed on a mk6 Golf;

And here’s one showing the lower diffuser being removed;
