PORSCHE 944 HANDLE HELP!!!
« on: 03 December 2008, 18:00 »
hey all I recieved my polished porsche 944 handles on monday i got off ebay
look really good but the locking pin for the barrel is broken on one handle so a pin
cant be put in which makes the barrel fall out

I have been told its no problem as they will still work
what do I need to do for them to work on my mk2 as I cant see
any other way of these working without the lock barrel falling inside the handle

can anybody help otherwise I need to send these back

cheers
rob

Not only are they broken, they're designed for a Porsche and you have a Golf2.

Send them back, they're clearly wrong and broken.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

In light of recent VW matters Isn't he 'technically' putting Porche door handles on a 'Porche'

The trigger type door handles are the same from Mk1 Golf and Mk2 but I think you really need ones from a Porsche 924 or 924S
I think the 944 ones are different.
But persevere with it,you might be able to get them to work.
I,ll post again once I,ve double checked my "Original Porsche 924/944/968" book.

i have a damaged handle in the shed that i can remove the "basket" that hold the lock barrel and sell to you!!!

but obviously you need to barter this out with the seller first - try and get a few quid off, say 40!! ill send you this part for £15

heres a picture where I have circled the clips are broken so the pin cant slide into anything
and I dont have the centre part of that handle for the lock barrel to go into where the handle above has everything there
